Background information
The Ferrari project was first announced on 11 October 2007 when the most famous name in motorsport signed a six-year agreement to manufacture and supply all A1GP engines, and consult on the design and manufacture of all A1GP chassis from season four onwards.
Following on from the new car’s successful first tests in Italy and Spain, the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello circuit today held a launch event including the first public running of the new A1GP Powered by Ferrari car.
The circuit will host the season opener event later this year on 19-21 September 2008, with another 10 races to follow in Europe, Asia, Africa, the America’s and Australasia.
