The race length is 57 laps. The scorching heat and sand, which is literally everywhere puts a lot of stress on both the cars and the drivers. The sand on the road makes it equal to the wet race, it is slippery. F.Massa was the best in the qualification and it was the 100th Pole Position for Ferrari.

This GP was interesting for several reasons. The first was the 100th pole position for Ferrari, the second L.Hamilton's third visit on the podium in his third race in F1 and third, the total of points of the 3 first drivers in the classification. F.Massa gets to the front right after the start, followed by L.Hamilton, K. Räikkönen, F.Alonso and N.Heidfeld. Before the end of the first lap there is a collision and J.Button and S.Speed retire, V.Liuzzi goes to the pit stop with his nose cone damaged and the Safety Car is deployed. Afterwards the race is pretty standard, Sato retires 23 laps to the end, shortly after exiting the pit lane smoke appears after his car, spraying the road with oil, he promptly parks next to the pit wall. D.Coulthard retires 20 laps before the end, man with the worst luck this season, again with a technical problem. Webber retires 15 laps to go and both Red Bulls are out, 5 laps to the end Davidson finishes from the point winning position. N. Heidfeld thanks to his excellent driving gets to the key 4th position, passing Alonso. F.Massa wins the start-finish style, L.Hamilton second, K.Räikkönen third. According to the new rules for 2007, the drivers must use both hard and soft tire specification. The soft being recognizable by a white line roughly in the middle of the tire. Very interesting for the viewers.
